Built in wood using advanced techniques for the time (wood hull and epoxy resins, deckhouse/cabin top and deck in teak), the Motor Yacht Minorca was designed by Eng. Pietro Baglietto. Approximately 20-22 meters long, it established itself for its planing hulls, derived from Baglietto’s experience with the fast military M.A.S. [Motor Torpedo Boats]. This innovation guaranteed high performance, with cruising and maximum speeds that could reach and exceed 25 knots, depending on the original engine configurations, which were often upgraded or updated during restorations.
The interiors, typically finished in mahogany, are synonymous with refinement and offer ample living spaces. The classic configuration includes an owner’s cabin with a private bathroom and two guest cabins, in addition to separate crew accommodation in the bow. Many examples of the Minorca have been subject to meticulous restorations over the years, bringing them back to as-new condition and preserving their vintage charm, often by upgrading the engines with modern high-power units, such as 1200 HP MAN engines, which make it a true ‘Ferrari of the sea’.
The Baglietto Minorca is today a rare and precious vintage yacht, highly sought after by enthusiasts for its history, unmistakable design, and excellent construction quality that has made it a symbol of the ‘Dolce Vita’ at sea.
