FIM AFFILIATED ASSOCIATION

The Historic Partnership Between ASDEC and FIM

Since 1993, ASDEC (Associazione Scafi D’Epoca e Classici) has held the status of an Affiliated Association of the FIM (Italian Powerboat Federation), the governing body that brings together associations and athletes within the powerboating sector.
Following this affiliation, ASDEC was able to obtain registration in the National Register of Amateur Sports Activities.

Official Recognition in the Vintage/Classic Sector

ASDEC’s role was officially recognized through an agreement stipulated on January 1, 1993, between GianAlberto Zanoletti (longtime President of ASDEC) and Massimo Moratti (then President of FIM).

The Federation assigned ASDEC a crucial role within the historical powerboating sector, a role the Association maintains to this day.

  • The FIM 2025 National Regulation for Pleasure Craft Activities confirms this mandate, specifying that, for the certification of “vintage/classic motor pleasure craft,” reference is made to the ASDEC Historical Certification Regulation (available on the Italian version of our website).

Joint Certification

By virtue of this regulation, all motor pleasure craft certified by ASDEC can obtain the “vintage or classic hull classification certificate”, issued jointly by FIM and ASDEC.

Benefits and Insurance Coverage

Affiliation FIM guarantees ASDEC and its registered members access to significant concessions and benefits. reserved for affiliates.

Among these, the possibility of stipulating a standard policy against the civil liability of sports event organizers is particularly relevant.

  • This policy was jointly designed by FIM and the selected insurer, with specific clauses tailored for powerboating events.
  • All ASDEC rallies are protected by this specific insurance.

ASI FEDERATED CLUB

Since 2005, ASDEC has been an ASI (Automotoclub Storico Italiano) Federated Club, the leading organization for the recovery and preservation of historic vehicles.

This important collaboration allows our members direct access to ASI registration. Registered historic vehicles thus benefit from tax concessions and easier road circulation, as recognized by current legislation, by virtue of their historical and cultural value.

Members and Technical Commissioners

  • Member of the Motorboating and Aeronautical Commission (nominated by ASDEC): Alex Mazzoni (succeeding Gianalberto Zanoletti).
  • Technical Commissioners of the ASDEC Federated Club: Luigi Pavese, Marco Stoppani, and Marco Bernocchi.
