Villa d’Este Style Vintage Yachting 2025: The Apotheosis of Elegance on Lake Como
In the vibrant heart of the 2025 nautical season, Lake Como reaffirmed its role as a global stage for luxury and history. From September 18th to 20th, the iconic Villa d’Este and the magnificent setting of Cernobbio hosted the first edition of the “Villa d’Este Style Vintage Yachting“, an event set to become the nautical equivalent of the famous Concorso d’Eleganza for classic cars.
The event, born from the idea of celebrating timeless elegance, attracted owners and enthusiasts from every corner of the globe. The waters of the Lario (Lake Como) were illuminated by the presence of about thirty vintage and classic vessels, true floating jewels. From refined mahogany runabouts by Riva to elegant cruising motorboats from the Abbate and Baglietto shipyards, every hull represented an invaluable testament to 20th-century Italian nautical craftsmanship. The atmosphere along the shores was permeated by timeless elegance, where style was not just exhibited but experienced.
The program unfolded through a structured series of events: convivial moments, a lavish gala dinner, and, most importantly, the exciting parade of boats along the most famous shores, touching Tremezzina and Bellagio. The highlight was the assessment by the Jury of Honour. The judges, experts in naval design and history, evaluated not only the state of preservation of the hulls but, above all, the intrinsic “style“, the originality, and the ability to evoke the golden age of lake navigation.
The coveted “Best in Show – Villa d’Este Style” award was presented to the Motorsailer Azzurra, a 1968 model, praised for its historical fidelity and impeccable restoration. The success of this inaugural edition is a triumph for the organizers and a strong signal of commitment to safeguarding nautical heritage. The “Villa d’Este Style Vintage Yachting” 2025 concluded, leaving a lasting mark and further raising the bar for classic boat gatherings internationally. The appointment is renewed for next year to relive the enchantment of these queens of the lake.
